My first trip to GADAGA-ಗದಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ I went to gadag for the first time in the year 2010.
The Gadag District is located in Karnataka, India.
The district was formed in 1997, when it was split from the Dharwad District
The district features monuments (primarily Jain and Hindu temples) from the Chalukya Empire.
Gadag District has seven tehsils
1.Gadag-Bettgeri
2.Rona
3.Shirhatti
4.Nargund
5.Lakshmeshwar
6.Gajendragad
7.Mundargi
We first Went to Lakkundi , it is About 12 kilometres far from Gadag
Lakkundi was the residence of the Chalukyan kings. It is known for its 101 step wells(known as kalyani or pushkarni)
Dambal is known for Doddabasappa Temple.
Gajendragad-Known for its hill fort and Kalakaleshwara temple .
The Itagi bheemambika Temple Itagi a small temple town. It is famous for the temple of Bheemavva orBhimambika
It is in Rona .Its About 13 km far from Gajendragad.
For all age groups,the main attraction was The Magadi Bird Sanctuary created at the Magadi reservoir , it's 26 kms far from Gadag on the Gadag-Bangalore Road, 8 kilometres from Shirhatti and 11 kilometres far from Lakshmeshwar. (We had been On Gadag -Bangalore road )
We learned many new and interesting things about gadag, This district generates wind power at Kappatagudda,Kurtkoti and Gajendragad.
